Want Your Photo in Dlugokecki’s New Album?

Last year, during SXSW I had the privilege of interviewing Southampton, England-based sextet Dlugokecki during their first trip to the States. Having been in the music scene the past 10 years, the band is inviting fans to add their picture in the inside of their upcoming release, 10 Years of Dlugokecki.

The 2-Disc, 34 track album will be available April 5 and all you have to do to enter is hold up a piece of paper with the name of your favorite Dlugokecki song clearly written. The most original entry wins an A2 framed 10 Years of Dlugokecki print of the new artwork, signed by the band. Three runners-up will be picked at random and win free tickets to the tour finale and a free Dlugokecki T-Shirt.

Send a picture of yourself,  friend or family member and they’ll print it in the inside of the CD and add it their Web site. Add the picture to facebook and tag Ben Dlugokecki, or send him the image via E-mail. The contest ends Sunday, so be sure to enter now! I may send a photo myself…

Nominate You Sing, I Write to Attend SXSW!

Wednesday night at the SoundCtrl event I found out about the Flash Fwd endeavor they’re putting together with the help of Pepsi Music. It’s a campaign to honor people using technology, social and digital media to reshape the music industry. Basically, you vote for innovators in the music field and winners will receive travel and lodging to the SXSW Interactive Festival!

I know many of you loved my South By Southwest coverage last year and have been eagerly asking me about my attendance this year. Unfortunately, having five weddings coming up (including being in four!) I’ve opted against traveling to festivals since most of my money is going to my site relaunch and wedding festivities. But, if you REALLY want me to go you can nominate me to attend! Find more info below:

“You are invited to nominate and vote on individuals, groups and organizations for this award. Nominees are people you think are having a meaningful impact on the future of music through the innovative application of online and/or mobile technology. To become a finalist, each nominee must a minimum of 50 votes. Voting is now live and closes the last week in February. Do your part & nominate your favorite company or fellow innovator and tell us why their ideas FlashFWD. Five winners will be determined by an anonymous voting process by the SoundCtrl board members and announced the 1st week in March. Winners will receive travel and lodging to the SXSW Interactive Festival and will be recognized at the inaugural FlashFWD event on March 16th.”

I just need 50 votes to be in the running, so if you’d like me to attend SXSW you can enter me here. Be sure to list the nominee name as Annie Reuter, Web site http://yousingiwrite.com and Email atreuter@gmail.com. Thank you for your support!

Win a Private Show with Tyrone Wells!

I came across this contest the other day on Twitter. As some of you may remember, Tyrone Wells was one of my top 5 concerts of 2009. This spring, you have a chance to win a private show with Wells and Tony Lucca on their tour bus! I’ve seen Wells perform several times last year and he always puts on a great show. For more details, read the rules below and for tour dates, visit Wells on MySpace.

How do I win?
Get your friends together and purchase ONE block of tickets. The group that purchases the biggest block wins. Please be sure that your group purchases all tickets together under ONE name.

How do I submit my block of tickets?
E-mail contest@tyronewellsmusic.com with your ticket receipt anytime between now and 3/3/10. Contest ends at midnight PST on 3/3/10.

What if I have already purchased tickets and want to purchase more?
You can purchase another block and we will add the two totals together.

How many winners are there?
Only one group wins this. This contest is for the whole tour and excludes college shows. There will be ONE winner announced on 3/4/10 and then they will coordinate with Tyrone’s tour manager Mark Chipello. If the group is too big to fit on the bus we will work out a private location for the after show party and mini-concert.

How long will the private party/concert be?
Tyrone and Tony will each play a couple songs and then everyone can hang out and mingle.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?
Send an email to contest@tyronewellsmusic.com, we’ll do our best to help!

If anyone’s interested in attending his New York show and wants to buy tickets together, E-mail Me!

Do You Want Boys Like Girls to Play Your Prom?

My friend and colleague Tammy just filled me in on Seventeen Magazine‘s Ultimate Prom contest where you have a chance to win a performance by Boys Like Girls at your prom! All you have to do is upload a creative two-minute long video explaining why your high school deserves it. For more information, click here and watch the video below.

From December 18 to March 12, teen girls from all over the country can submit a video on Seventeen.com showing why they deserve a live performance from Boys Like Girls at their high school prom. Video submissions will be judged by Seventeen and Columbia Records.

“We couldn’t do what we do without our fans, so being able to be part of the ‘Ultimate Prom’ is just a small way of saying thank you to the people who make Boys Like Girls possible,” said Martin Johnson, the band’s frontman. “I wonder what I’ll wear…”

The first 10,000 to visit this site and sign up get free download of “Heart Heart Heartbreak.” And, if you haven’t read my interview yet from Jingle Ball with Boys Like Girls, be sure to here.
